It is hardy in USDA zones 3 to 8. These seeds were open pollinated and harvested in 2022.

Ratibida prefers a full sun location and commonly lives in dry prairies and savannas. This plant prefers clay or sandy soils and will tolerate poor, dry soil. It flowers yellow in the summer and can grow 3-5'H, 2-3' W. It is a plant that is definitely in need of staking or some sort of support. I am going to try and cut a couple back early-ish in the season next year to see if that will help with the floppiness.

This plant produces a lot of seeds! If you leave the seed heads, some will be enjoyed by birds but many will fall and reproduce.

According to the Xerces Society, this plant is of special value for native bees! A must have for your pollinator garden!

GERMINATION
--------------------
Seeds can be direct sown in the fall. Or you can start them ~8-10 weeks before last frost in the spring. If you wait until spring, the seeds need 30 days of cold, moist stratification. Seeds can be placed in a bag of moist sand and placed in the refrigerator.

After stratification plant the seeds in germination mix, 1/8" deep, barely covering . Germination can take 3-4 weeks. It is important to keep the soil moist to lightly moist during this time.

SHIPPING
-------------
To save on paper I do not include germination information or a packing slip with your order. Please save the above information for later reference. If you would like a printable version, I would be happy to email one to you!
As always, I am here to help - if you have any questions, comments, special requests or feedback (good or bad) I am here! Make sure to keep your seeds in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight until you are ready to plant.
Happy Growing!

50 Prairie Coneflower Seeds, Ratibida pinnata | Native Seed | Pollinator | Butterfly Garden | Garden Gift | Flower Seed | Winter Sowing |

https://tradeherellc.com/products/prairie-coneflower-seeds-native-wildflower-butterfly-garden-ratibida-pinnata
